The Soul.

Greetings, Brothers, Sisters and Dear Friends,

It is said of the Soul that it does not know time. In that you could only know someone for 5 minutes or just a day. Till something happens to that person and a life is lost then your very own Soul feels that loss as well. To only know someone for a short time matters not to the Soul. It would seem as if you had known that person all your life. From Nous (Mind, Intellect) the Soul receives God. The Soul is the very Rouah (Breath) of God. Before our bodies became animated the Demiurge (Architect) having borrowed matter fashioned our bodies; only he lack the divine power to give us life. So Sophia the Divine Feminine blew into the nostrals of Adam and Eve giving them both a Soul. This Soul was conscience of material things only. It is said that we all have a Soul but, not all of us have the pneuma (Spirit) of God. This is why Adam and Eve were in need of liberation because they had not received the pneuma. This also foreshadows the ultimate liberation that Yeshua (Jesus) would win for us all. In the Gospels Yeshua spoke to his disciples saying, "My time here is short, because the ruler of this world is coming." Many take this to be a reference to Satan. However, I do not, this to me is a direct reference to the Demiurge. Who created this world with borrow materials like an egocentric child playing with it's toys. Before Adam and Eve received the pneuma they were living under the old maximim "Ignorance is bliss." This too is how many of us live until we seek Gnosis (Knowledge gained through spiritual insight) just as Yeshua instructed us. When he said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. [And after they have reigned they will rest.]" Sophia looked down at the creation of mankind and decided enough was enough. So she entered the garden as a snake determined to liberate mankind from the cluches of the Demiurge. When Sophia reach Eve she convinced her to eat of the tree of Gnosis (Knowledge of good and evil) teaching her that she was born divine. Therefore Eve should be one with God and Know what God knows. The same is true of all of us; we are all divine. Not Gods but, one with the God of us all. With such power comes great responsibility and many of us are simply not ready yet. It is important for all of us to see and understand that with out the pneuma the psyche (Soul) can not know it's way home. There is a Greek proverb that goes simply put, "Know Thyself." This too is how Yeshua explains the first step of Soul searching. When he says, "When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty." So as we look deeper into the Soul we will know who we are, what we are capable of, where we are going, and where we have been? Nothing is impossible for God! And trully if we are one with God then nothing is impossible for us too!

This is the first installment of a series of messages on similar subjects that I hope to share with you all.

Gnostic Service for St. Valentine's Day, 2/11/2006, 10:00 am

Greetings, Brothers, Sisters and Dear Friends,

Last week we learned about two key sacraments in our Gnostic initiation process being Baptism and the Bridal Chamber. This week we are going to postphone the next chapter of the Gospel of John inorder to have a special service about St. Valentine's Day. For anyone who would like to join our service? All one needs to do is join yahoo messenger or sign in and IM me at gnosis_theou@yahoo.com and I will invite you on the day of the service. The service is scheduled to begin at 10am central standard time or 11am eastern standard time. It will last aproximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Because I have to work on St. Valentine's Day we will have the service on our regular scheduled day of Saturday 2/11/06.

This is the Word of light reading for the day: 1st John 4:7-14

Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and Knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, For God is love. God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father has sent his Son as the Savior of the World. So we have known and believe the love that God has for us.

Feb 4, 2006 Gnostic Service Theme: Entering The Bridal Chamber

Greetings, Brother, Sisters and Dear Friends,

In Last weeks service we learned that in order to become a Child of
Light we must be born from above. Meaning we must awaken to the
divine within in an outward symbol of baptism and crismation. So this
week's theme is Enter The Bridal Chamber. As we prepare for this
sacrament we will be learning more about culitivating the light
within. Br. Matthew will be giving the Homily.

Word of Light reading: Yeshua Baptizes In Yehuda

After this Yeshua and his student came into the land of Yehuda. He
stayed there with them and baptized.

Yahanan also was baptizing in Ainon near Salim, since there were many
waters there, and the people came and were baptized. Yohanan had not
yet been thrown into prison.

There was a dispute between Yohanan's students and a Jew about
ceremonial washing. They came toward Yohanan and said, "Rabbi, the
one who was with you across the Jordan, to whom you testified ,
look, he is baptizing all who come to him."

Yohanan answered,

"No one can recieve anything unless it comes from heaven. You are my
witnesses that I have said, 'I am not the messiah but I am sent
before him.'

"He who has the bride is the groom. The groom's friend who stands
near and hears him is filled with joy at the groom's voice. So my
happiness is completed. He must increase and I be diminished.

"The one who comes from above is above all. The one who is of the
earth is of the earth and speaks from the earth. The one who comes
from the sky is above all. To what he has seen and heard he
testifies, yet his testimony no one recieves. Who receives his
testimony proves that god is true. Whom god sent speaks the words of
god, for the wind of spirit he gives out is beyond measure. The
father loves the son and has given all things into his hand. Who
believes in the son has eternal life, but one who disbelieves the son
will not see life. The wrath of god remains upon him."

Gnostic Service January 28th at, 10am central time.

Greetings, Brothers, Sisters and Dear Friends,

It has been quite awhile since our last service was held. This was mostly due to the many computer problems I had been having. My Job was also another reason I had to stop for a while. All of these things have since been fixed and I am now ready to return to the Basics. This Saturdays Service is about the "Children of light" coming from the Gospel of John found in the Gnostic Bible chapter 3. As Gnostics this message speaks to us in many ways. Many of you may remember Yeshua speaking to his disciples and saying things like, "You are the Light of the World, Nobody hides a lamp under a bush. Instead they set it on a stand for all to see." In this way Yeshua taught us how to see the light in ourselves and others as a spiritual practice and meditation. In this weeks theme we are going to see what it takes to become a Child of Light.

Word of Light Reading: Nikodemos Questions Yeshua

Now, there was a Pharisee named Mikodemos, a leader of ther Jews. He came to Yeshua at night and said, "Rabbi, we know that you came as a teacher from god since no one can perform these wonderous signs if god were not with him. Yeshua answered, "Truly, truly I say to you, unless you are born from above you cannot see the kingdom of god." "How can one be born when one is old?" he asked. "One cannot enter a mother's womb a second time and be born." Yeshua answered, "Truly, truly I say to you, unless you are born from water and the wind of god (Spirit) you cannot enter the kingdom of god. What is born form the flesh is flesh, what is born form the wind is wind. Do not wonder that I told you you must be born again from above. The wind blows where it wants to and you hear its sound, but you cannot know where it comes from and where it goes. So it is for everyone born from the wind of god (Spirit)."

"How can these things happen?" Nikodemos asked. Yeshua said to him, "You are the teacher of Israel and do you not know this? Truly, truly I say to you, we speak of what we know and we testify to what we have seen, yet you do not receive our testimony. If I tell you of earthly things and you do not believe, how if I tell you of heavenly things will you believe? And no one has gone up into the sky except the one who came down from the sky, the earthly son. And as Moshe raised up the snake in the desert, the earthly son must be raised up so that all who believe in him will have eternal life.

"God loved the world so much that he gave his only son, so that all who believe in him might not be destroyed but have eternal life. For god did not send his son into the world to judge the world but so that through him the world might be saved. One who believes in him is not judged, but one who does not believe is judged already for not believing in the name of god's only son. And this is the judgement: that the light came into the world and people loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were cunning. For all who do paltry things hate the light and do not come toward the light so that their works will not be exposed. But those who do the truth come toward the light so that their works may shine as accomplished through god."
